An alum of Baltimore bars and restaurants, like Blue Pit BBQ, Rye and the Waterfront Hotel, plans to open a cocktail bar with a "throwback feel" in the former Santa Clara space in Fells Point.Doug Atwell has built a career in local bars and now he's preparing to open one of his own.The business doesn't yet have a name or opening date, but Atwell recently signed a lease on the 1,000-square-foot space at 529 S. Bond St. and is working to hammer out the details, including landing more investors.He already knows he wants the place to have the same kind of neighborhood feel as staples, like Henninger's Tavern and Peter's Inn, as well as popular newcomers, like Ekiben and Cocina Luchadoras -- "owner-operated places where you can feel their presence and know you're giving your money to people you know."Read the full story on the Baltimore Business Journal
